Stage two, session one

The mental model

You are not learning a tool, you are taking on an agent. Here is what one is made of, and how it learns.

2.08[BONUS]

Getting as much context in as possible

The more it knows about you, the more helpful it can be.

Everything it will ever know about your work comes from the files in your folder and, once the connectors are in, what they reach.

Everything else, the meeting, the phone call, the decision made at your desk, is gone the moment it happens unless something writes it down.

A week, as it is

  • Meeting
  • Phone call
  • Decision
  • Email
  • Document
Your folder

Two of five reach the folder, and three are gone.

The same week, with the habits on

  • Meetingtranscribed
  • Phone calldictated
  • Decisiondictated
  • Emailconnector
  • Documentcopied in
Your folder

All five reach the folder.

Three habits get it in:

  • Turn on transcription for every meeting. Google Meet, Teams and Zoom will each write notes and a transcript and email them to you when the call ends, and it is one setting.
  • Dictate the ones that were not recorded. A phone call, a conversation in a corridor, a decision you made on your own, two minutes into the microphone afterwards and saved into the folder.
  • Put in what you already have. Proposals, past reports, the notes you wrote for the last person you took on, as plain text or markdown where you can.

And for what is only in your head, have it interview you rather than write it cold, because it asks the things you would never have thought to write down, and stage four shows you how.

Note: Ask before you record other people. A line at the start of the call is enough, and almost everyone says yes.

That is the whole of this stage. Next is the map
