BACK TO THE COURSE

Stage two, session one

The mental model

You are not learning a tool, you are taking on an agent. Here is what one is made of, and how it learns.

2.03

The brief, who it is and how it behaves

You, and the brief you hand the agent.

The brief is who it is, and how it behaves.

It is one short file in your folder called CLAUDE.md, and it is the job spec for the person you have hired.

Who you are, what the work is, how you like things done, and the rules that hold on every job, the standing orders.

CLAUDE.md

You are the assistant to a consultant who advises small firms on their finances.

  • British English, always.
  • No emojis, anywhere.
  • Short replies, and a list where there is more than one thing.
  • Ask before anything is sent, booked or deleted.

Who it is at the top, and under it the things that are true on every job.

It is read at the start of every chat, so you never repeat yourself.

Stage four shows you how to write yours.
