Stage three, session one

Map your ecosystem

Before the brief, the map. The areas your life and work split into, one folder each, what you already have filed into them by Claude, and one picked to start with.

3.08[BONUS]

Moving from ChatGPT to Claude

Moving from ChatGPT to Claude does not mean starting again.

You do not need the old chats, you need what ChatGPT has learnt about you from them, how you like things written, the work you do and the people in it.

The longer you leave it, the more it knows about you and the bigger the move gets, so if it is what has been stopping you, it is worth doing now.

In ChatGPT

  • The proposal chat
  • Monday's emails
  • That pricing question
  • Two hundred more
  • Stays behind

What it has learnt about you

In Claude, either

Settings, Memory, Start import

or

ecosystem/

  • CLAUDE.md
  • clients/
  • CLAUDE.md

This prompt gets it out, and it is built on the one Anthropic, who make Claude, publish for this.

Paste it into a new chat in ChatGPT and it writes out everything it remembers about you in one block you can copy.

Get it out of ChatGPT
I am moving to Claude and I want to take what you know about me with me. List every memory you have stored about me, and everything you have learnt about me from our past conversations, word for word where you can. Cover the instructions I have given you about how to answer, the corrections I have made to you, my work and who it is for, the people I mention, the tools I use, what I am working on now, and anything else you hold. Do not summarise, group things together or leave anything out to make it tidy. Put the whole list in one code block so I can copy it, with the date each thing was saved where you have it. After the code block, tell me whether that is everything or whether anything is left.

Then run it a second time, because it will not always get everything first time.

In another new chat, paste this with the first list where the capitals are, and it gives you only what it missed.

What did it miss
Below is a list of what you know about me that you gave me in another chat. Read it against everything you know or remember about me, and give me only what is missing from it or wrong in it, in one code block, in the same format. If nothing is missing, say so. [PASTE THE FIRST LIST HERE]

Note: Read the list before it goes anywhere and take out client names and anything else you would rather not move, because nothing goes across except the text you paste.

In the Claude app, it goes into Claude's memory.

Go to Settings, then Memory, choose Start import, paste the list in and choose Add to memory.

Paste the list you read through, then Add to memory

Note: Anthropic call the import experimental and say it keeps mostly what is about your work, so open Memory again afterwards and read what it kept.

In your ecosystem, it goes into your briefs and files, and only once you have agreed what.

Open Claude Code in the folder and paste this with the list after it, and it compares the two, tells you what it would update and what it would leave out, and changes nothing until you say go ahead.

Bring it home
What I am about to paste is everything ChatGPT knew about me, written out by ChatGPT. We are inside my ecosystem folder. Read it, then read the briefs and the files in my ecosystem, and compare the two. Then give me two lists. First, what you think we should update, each with the file it would go in and the line you would add or change. Second, what you would leave out, each with one line on why, whether it is already there, out of date, too personal or no use to you. Do not change anything yet. I will read both lists and tell you what to move between them, and when I say go ahead, make the updates and tell me what you changed in each file.

3.07 goes further, with an interview, and writes it all up as documents for your folder.
